For the 60th anniversary website of the Eurovision Song Contest, co-produced with the Barcelona-based agency Elespacio, Scrn has been nominated for a Lovie Award. The ‘Lovies’, often referred to as the European Oscars for digital work, are being awarded annually to acknowledge excellence in online creation.
The website, which we produced together with our friends from Elespacio for the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), was nominated in the category Web/Television. The winner will be decided by public vote, so we need your support! You can vote until the 22nd of September via the website of the Lovie Awards.
In the lead-up to the 60th Eurovision Song Contest, the EBU decided to commission the creation of an online experience to celebrate the contest’s rich legacy. The website brings together stories, photos, videos and statistics.
Earlier this year, the project was nominated for a Webby Award in the category Event Websites. After the public and a professional jury cast their votes, the project finished just behind the MTV Awards.
“We are incredibly proud of this nomination. It encourages our team to break barriers and find ever-more creative solutions for the challenges and opportunities facing the digital world,” says Paul Jordan, project leader at Scrn for the Eurovision Song Contest account.
